Famed fashion photographer Helmut Newton shot provocative black-and-white photographs of models for Vogue while also known as a fine art photographer. Vogue USA’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour once described Newton's work as “synonymous with Vogue at its most glamorous and mythic.”
Newton resided in France, later in Los Angeles, California, and was married to photographer Alice Springs.

Lukacs established his reputation in the 1980s by creating astonishing large-scale paintings that depicted skinheads, construction workers, and other masculine archetypes in elaborate and erotic scenes. The physical presence of the Lukacs' male subjects stands out as one of the artist's most distinctive aesthetic elements. With meticulous attention to form and proportions, Lukacs skillfully renders his young men with expressive brushwork and an intense, moody palette reminiscent of the old masters. Despite the monumental scale of his canvases, Lukacs begins his creative process with a much more intimate and modern day tool: the Polaroid. Because of its immediacy and simplicity it became an essential part of his process in the 80's and 90's. As a result the artist amassed a trove of over 1,200 Polaroids that depict lovers, friends, and anonymous models in a various poses that serve as a starting point for his paintings. In this grid of Polaroids, "Alex" is a young man posing nude on top of a tarp. Despite the camera being discontinued in 1973, he continued to use it to capture the actors, artists, dancers, politicians, socialites, and factory members of his world. Frequently, Warhol's polaroids were used as preparatory works for his iconic silkscreen portraits or other artworks. They also revealed his immediate personal vision functioning as a chronicle of his surroundings and social life. In 1977, Warhol began work on two new sexually-charged bodies of work, Torsos and Sex Parts. These two series are regarded as Warhol's most daring, arguably the earliest overtly gay work in his oeuvre. Ultimately, the works in these series served to help Warhol assert his own homosexuality. A collection of 54 designs by a variety of well-known creatives, realized on bodies by M.A.C cosmetics' artists. This set of posters is the origin from which the M.A.C deck cards was created. Extremely rare to come by. Inspired by the irreverent imaging of M.A.C Cosmetics, the creative teams of M.A.C and Assouline got some of the most renowned designers, musicians, and artists to create unique body designs that became a provocative set of images. All the designs submitted were not only original and creative but reflected the individual personalities of the well-known participants.
